Justice Larry Whalen

Justice Larry Whalen has been a judge of the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario) since May of 1992. Although seated in Sault Ste. Marie, he has presided throughout Ontario. From early days as a judge, he has been interested in the application of technology to the courts and has embraced the advantages it offers. Larry served for 8 years as a Director of the Canadian Superior Court Judges Association. He and Justice Glen Parrett (Supreme Court of B.C.) initiated and co-chaired the Association’s Technology Committee. Justice Whalen was the C.S.C.J.A.’s representative in the formation of the CCCT-CCTJ and has been a Director from the start. He is Chair of the CCCT-CCTJ’s Membership and Governance Committee and Co-Chair of the inaugural Canadian Forum on Court Technology to be held in Ottawa on September 22 and 23, 2010.
