Ray Bodnarek was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General on December 3, 2008. Ray has over 20 years experience with Alberta Justice, including 7 years of executive management experience as Executive Director of Legal Services and Assistant Deputy Minister, Legal Services Division.

Ray received his LLB from the University of Alberta in 1985 and obtained an LLM from Dalhousie University in 1993. He was called to the Alberta bar in 1986. He is co-chair of the Canadian Centre for Court Technology (CCCT) Board of Directors and was recently appointed as co-chair for the Provincial-Territorial forum of Deputy Ministers responsible for justice. He is married with two children.
