Any Canadian Judge on Facebook?
April 5, 2010
Short post to alert our readers of an article entitled Should judges join Facebook? that appeared earlier this year in the Montreal Gazette. The article followed the Canadian Judicial Council’s Facebook and Social Networking Security [PDF] whitepaper.
I am a big fan of the author, Martin Felsky, with whom I have had the pleasure to work in my prior life and with whom I now work on the Judicial Technology Advisory Committee. His paper covers a lot and is a really useful tool to help judges better appreciate some of the Web2.0 websites out there.
I am wondering if one of the best practices for judges would not be to use aliases? At the same time, perhaps they should register their real names to prevent people with bad intentions to use it… Do you know any judge who has a Facebook profile?
